The collapse of Afghanistan this week provides another unvarnished glimpse of the world as it really exists for hundreds of millions of people: brutal, hopeless, and deadly.
While American leftists weep because a TV game show failed to hire a black host, Afghan citizens were vainly clinging to the side of an accelerating C-17 military jet, some of them sheared off the fuselage and tumbling hundreds of feet to their deaths.
While entitled Western leftists condemn life in Liberal democracies, wringing their hands over the “male gaze”, women and girls in Afghanistan are systematically oppressed, beaten and raped. While a misplaced pronoun here, is considered “violence” against LGBT people, in parts of the Islamic world gays are heaved off buildings. In most places, justice is non-existent, education and food are in short supply, corruption is rampant, and life is misery.
That Afghanistan is descending into chaos and bloodshed isn’t an exception; it’s the norm for much of the planet.
The professional Western agitators and victims need to get out more.
