THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH UNCLE IRA

“Child 44” is an excellent novel (not to be confused with the clumsy movie based on it) set in Stalin’s Russia, about a secret agent attempting to unmask and apprehend a serial killer preying on young boys. The only problem: in the worker’s paradise, the only criminals are enemies of the state. Murder is impossible. This presents a knot problem for the cops, but That’s what happens when the left’s fantasy delusions collide head-on with reality.

They made a train wreck of Russia for 70 years, insisting that the ideology driving their policies was correct, and perfect; therefore the devastation and human misery could not possibly be happening and any who said otherwise were at best, insane, at worst, traitors.

For 50 years Eastern Europe suffered it’s own train wreck under the same enlightened ideology. It’s 60 years and counting for Cuba. No one left alive in North Korea recalls a time when they weren’t under the oppressive fist of Communism. Ask Venezuela how that socialism’s been working out for them. Or California, for that matter.

Now we’re watching our own train wreck unfolding. This is the result when delusions and lies become official state policy.

“I don’t know whether you’re aware,” said Biden, in his phone call to the Afghan President on July 23, “just how much the perception around the world is that this is looking like a losing proposition . . . so the conclusion I’m asking you to consider is to bring together everyone from [ex-Afghan Vice President Abdul Rashid] Dostum, to [ex-President Hamid] Karzai and in between. If they stand there and say they back the strategy you put together, and put a warrior in charge, you know a military man . . . in charge of executing that strategy, and that will change perception.”

Lest you delude yourself into thinking sanity might yet prevail in the military, to counter the delusional President, here’s chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley, in his own July 23 phone call: “The perception in the United States, in Europe and the media sort of thing is a narrative of Taliban momentum, and a narrative of Taliban victory. We need to collectively . . . try to turn that perception, that narrative around.” In other words, if you can’t do good, try to look good.

Here’s the reality they both ignored, handed to them by the Afghan President: “Mr. President, we are facing a full-scale invasion, composed of Taliban, full Pakistani planning and logistical support, and at least 10-15,000 international terrorists… What is crucial is, close air support . . . a very heavy reliance on air power.”

Which, DUH, is the model the US Military taught them. When we closed Bagram and pulled air support, and the logistical backing of NGOs crucial to maintaining the aircraft left the country, the vaunted Afghan Security Force was denied its ability to fight. They collapsed, yes, but that’s what happens to an army cut off at the knees. Who knows how long they’d have held out, had a US policy grounded in reality rather than wishful thinking prevailed, but, as Biden’s phone call makes clear, the only approach considered was delusion-think and lies.

When he yelled his “victory” speech at America on Tuesday (how many drugs did they have to pump into him to get that imitation of a forceful, decisive tone in his voice), we watched a man living in his own parallel universe, unconstrained by logic, facts or any sense of reality at all. No point in dissecting that speech. It’s already in the public domain for all to see.

Here’s our take away: it’s not just Biden, it’s the entire apparatus that installed him in the office and is working him like the puppet he was always meant to be. An entire alternate reality has super-imposed itself on our world, a la “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” Yeah, we all know there’s something wrong with Uncle Ira, but if you think it stops there, you’d best start looking for pods under your bed.
