In the film "The Game Plan", The Rock portrays Joe, an NFL quarterback who is both successful and narcissistic. The narcissism gets knocked out of him by his 8-year-old daughter Peyton, who teaches him how to be a human being. It's hilarious how Peyton understands humanity better than Joe, and Joe comes to respect this, and yields to Peyton as his teacher.
Joe trains hard. Joe is narcissistic but he respects reality. Joe knows that if you want to win, you have to train hard. Joe has a weak emotional heart but he has a strong athletic heart.
Joe has the sin of narcissism, but he is redeemable. Though he is narcissistic, he doesn't hate anyone. Plus he has virtues. He's a badass quarterback and he helps his team win games. That's what fans want, and Joe succeeds in giving fans what they want.
Joe's agents tell him to ditch Peyton, because they think she's a distraction. They tell Joe that his marketability flows from his game success, and that he should focus on winning games.
Joe rejects his agents and welcomes Peyton into his life.
