You don't need to feel guilty to address systemic problems (as I implied in my comment at the link).

Collective Guilt is not about how you feel, it's about whether you have culpability (guilt.)
You have no culpability for anything that any "powerful" White people did in the past, or are doing right now.
They're doing it because they have Power and insufficient principles to constrain it toward doing what is "right".
They're not doing it because of their entirely irrelevant level of melanin. Many, many, many non-White people with Power have done things at-least as bad as any White guy ever did.

Any claims about the evils of "Whiteness" are just misdirection; a.k.a. "Bullshit".
They are also racist, by definition.

Systemic problems exist... invariably, as a part of any system.
Any sincere attempt to actually solve them would require the objectivity and the honesty to first:
accurately characterize them... no matter who's feelings get hurt.
And then, to seek out causes that are actually, well.... causal.
And then to seek solutions to those causes;
all without ultimately doing more harm than good, which is far more difficult than it sounds.

Clinging religiously to bullshit causes for poorly-characterized "problems" is not the way to get them solved.
We only do it because there is Power and Control in scapegoating. There is also great harm to the whole society in such reckless and self-serving divisiveness, but power mongers don't seem to care about the harm they do; let alone the Observable Fact that they have continuously and reliably failed to solve anything. Rather, just about every measure of a civilized society is declining at a mathematically-monotonic and "Progressive" (yes, pun) rate. e.g., Order, cultural "harmony", reliability of Institutions, and the general prosperity that relies on such things.

Politicians also seek "favor" from the ignorant majority of their constituency just by claiming to have a solution and the intent to pursue it.
And it's so much easier for them to come up with "solutions" to problems that they made up in the first place, especially when the "problem" is accepted as a matter of faith, and the solution is both unverifiable and immeasurable anyway; and... quite coincidentally I'm sure, exactly what they happen to have been trying to get away with doing all along anyway.

@rway But the government and corporations have culpability for what they have done. The history and its social impacts are well-documented.

@rway Society is "failing" because there is no more frontier to exploit. The rate of profit is falling. Corporations have no incentive to do capital expenditures. All they do is risk management and repeating old things in new places. Public investment (or exploitation of the frontier) is what gives a group of people the space to "progress" in capitalism. And yes it is morally wrong to exploit the frontier and marginalized people in the interior.

@rway This is something that the top people on the left and right have recognized--the right are OK with the exploitation. And their subjects are just ignorant.

Frontiers change, but there will always be frontiers for the people who look for them.... or who blindly fall into them, like Zuckerberg and Gates.
And there will never be opportunities for those who don't, except what is provided to them by others (who will then be accused of "exploiting" their labor.... by providing them an option to put food on the table.)

Society is failing because the horde of dumb-shits produced by the public "education" system don't understand why or how it ever worked in the first place, and simply want to consume "their fair piece" of the pie that they didn't bake... until it's gone. With no regard or "vision" whatsoever for what they're going to do after that....
