Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.My grandmother who lived through the Great Depression left a book of handwritten recipes for foods that do not spoil, such as lard. Alas, no one slaughters their own meat any more. I have tried to find a local source for jerked meat and pemican. All I get are suggestions to order it online from China. I quail at the thought of eating something that was made in the PRC purported to be survival food.
