@dd54 Well, he is not a totalitarian either. Authoritarian in the way Americans use that word, yes it would be more appropriate, but it does not speak of intent. Authority is a parent to a child, it does not mean the parent wants to sadistically oppress the child, although he could. By same token you could explain Trump as authoritarian , although his authority that is to say political power was far lower than that of Putin , and that is why he was de presoned of social media.

But if you are going to use these terms to explain what Putin is about you first must explain what is Russia about and I would suggest you look into proper biographies of Putin and not western caricature of him. You might be surprised.

That said, Putin is not a guy that does things randomly and just sadistically punishes people or ideologically tries to oppress people. But he is ruthlessly efficient against his enemies. In Russia it is a requirement. But he is not some sadistically wild and crazy maniac who just loves power so much he will do anything. And he is not a communist, he is also not a totalitarian.

I would suggest you read up on him from non western sources that are not trying to demonize the man but describe him for what he has done. You can listen to his own speeches and compare it to what he has done. The west has an image of Putin that is a caricature of a man, not reality.

Its not good or bad, its nuanced, but far more sophisticated than typical western image of Putin.

And with it so many other things might collapse fast. Economy, elections are coming, various impeachments, trials, covid cover ups and evidence of that, funding of bio weapons in Wuhan and Ukraine and other places, regime changes etc.

That is why both for Russia and for Globalists this is win or perish. That is dangerous because there is so much at stake for both sides and clearly the globalists are always escalating no matter the cost.

I hope we won't see WWIII in a military sense, we already are in one in financial, informational and covert way.
