LINK Matt Gaetz Among 20 Republicans Who Voted Against Human Trafficking Bill
The House overwhelmingly passed a bipartisan bill to support human trafficking victims on Tuesday, with a strong vote of 401-20 backed by both Democratic and Republican Representatives.
Among the 20 Republicans who voted against re-authorizing the Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention & Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022—legislation that supports programs preventing human trafficking and supporting its victims—was Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who's currently under federal investigation for the alleged sex trafficking of a 17-year-old girl.
While all House's Democrats but one who abstained and 183 Republicans voted in favor of the bill, these 20 Republicans voted against it:

Trafficking is at an all time high so a logical person would assume that this is a pointless discussion. If it has been unsuccessful it's safe to assume that it will continue to be unsuccessful.
If Democrats were concerned about trafficking they would close the border where trafficking and sexual assault is an epidemic.
Don't forget that the Democrats also seemed to have no curiosity about Epstein or his clients who seem to be politically connected.
Why vote for demonstrative failure and hypocrisy.

According to the United States Department of State an estimated 20,000 women and children are trafficked into the United States each year by crossing the Mexico–United States border.
Besides you left out California and Delaware at 3.77 per 100k.
Weird how you are unaware that correlation doesn't equal causation. The rates cannot rationally be attributed to a political party. Being a border state and or one with high cargo rates is a factor. Another is poverty and underfunded law enforcement. The South until recently was a Democratic stronghold but the problems have not changed so culture is another factor.

Did I say migration was the root cause? Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.
Just as you left out states that didn't make your point you left out the key point. Heavy international transportation is a common factor for most of the top ten. Migration however is not a cause it is an enabler. The cause is supply and demand.
I'm going to look into the reason why these Congressmen and women would vote against the act. I just downloaded a pdf of the bill to see what is in it. My guess is that the majority of the verbiage has little or nothing to do with the title.

Be sure and come back with findings. Pelosi was whinging on about the defeat of the assault weapons ban (which is unconstitutional at its base and already tried and failed) and characterizing it as a GOP attack on (re)funding the police. A small part of the bill was about coppers -- but that is what the DNC slime tout when a poisonous bill is defeated.
No more compromise with this crappola. Single issue bills, not added crappola to appease the clowns.

They have invited a rabid dog into their party, the Progressives, and the entire party is tainted. I'd rather have a total standstill than have the likes of Pelosi (etc -- puke) gain anything.
