What - like Las Vegas is somehow less corrupting than Hollywood? I don't think so.

I think showbiz in general is corrupting, with its emphasis on pulchritude. I think Wahlberg is reacting to the leftist groupthink that has taken over Hollywood. It prevents family oriented productions from even being considered. Nevada seems to be more libertarian than Hollywood, not to mention less expensive.
The exodus from Hollywood in increasing. Atlanta has become a center for movie production. They've built the ecosystem of service companies that film production require. They're family friendly and they're much less expensive.
