I had a relative who was a career employee of SW Bell Telephone Co - from early 70s until he died about 10 years ago. He was a technician - He showed me one day how the common rotary telephone could be turned into a listening device - with the handset on the hook! Of course as rotary phones were replaced by push button phones that "listening" capability did not go away.
As technology has progressed so too have the capabilities of "interested" people and organizations right along with it. Think Gov't and Corporations.
I was shocked to learn that literally every home office business that had a telephone could be spied upon via their telephones.

This ought to be the biggest class action lawsuit of our times. Who needs the 4th Amendment right? Or the first for that matter because we all realize we are or can be recorded all of the time. Where does this all go? What happens when people finally have had enough of the election interference, the blanket surveillance and the rest of this totalitarian mind control bullshit?
