Perhaps. I think the reporter's angle is the effrontery of the West, its behaviour in the predicating of the Syrian War, or Libya/Qaddafi/gold standard or Saddam/Iraq/weapons of mass destruction/building Iraq into the 4th largest army to be a thorn in the side of Iran AND just the plain old corporate dollar profit bottom line with its clandestine money laundering, child trafficking, sex trafficking, human resources body part trafficking, drugs, and mafia style heavy handedness and blatant corruption.
@Weltansicht Let me guess. Assad is defending Russia because of its democratic treatment of its citizens. And, all those Yachts owned by Russian Brass were bought with wages befitting a Commandante. Well, maybe, if he augmented his wages by selling off parts, weapons, fuel, and other unneeded articles. Hey, what else can an ambitious guy do?
