So are you saying that one can not be decent and moral if they reject the "social constructionist" arguments?
I believe that being in touch with reality - and objective truth - people are better equipped to be decent and moral and to be better able to contribute to society at large - including you.
The qualities of decency and morality are not mutually exclusive to qualities of objectivity and rational (as opposed to emotionally driven motives) thought.
It is neither decent nor moral to pander to someone who is obviously suffering from some form of self delusioned psychosis or another.
By pandering to them the only people who benefit are those who lack the courage and the genuine sympathy for the afflicted.
The easy thing to do is to go along with ideas that are popular when your logical brain knows those ideas to be abjectly false. Going along with the crowd is what notions of "social constructionism" and "SJW" activity is all about.
It takes some courage to stand up for objective truth.
To quote George Orwell: "Telling the Truth is a Revolutionary Act in a Time of Universal Deceit.
Or maybe to you someone like Ocasio-Cortezs' philosophy of "it's better to be moral than to be logically correct"....or something like that...LOL!!!!
@iThink what I'm saying is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Rejecting the social constructionist argument is being out of touch with reality. If it caters to the masses it will work. Catering to the smallest percentages would never make sense. As far as Anastasia Occasional Cortex, she is out of touch with morality AND logic.
Even if all of our perceptions are social constructs, all of our values and social expectations are constructed, they're suggesting they can devise better constructs based on (less than) a century of Theory than were developed over thousands of generations of applied human interactions?

close - but you are dismissing the large body of scientific study and peer review on the subjects of anthropology, biology, psychology etc.
To say that something is a "social construct" is to dismiss any and all objective logical and scientific evidence that explains the nature of that thing. Projecting "Social Constructism" upon the study of things is to either ignore or to deny scientific methodology and it is arbitrary and based mostly upon emotions and wishful thinking.
