A lowly soldier enlisted into a great army to make war against a foreign enemy. While marching he achieved the top of a hill, and spied troublemakers at a distance. Leaving the army behind, he set off and engaged those troublemakers, saying “In the name of the army, halt your trouble making at once!” Upon seeing that the lowly soldier was alone and greatly outmatched, the troublemakers waylaid and disposed of him.
Moral: No authority is vested in one who is outside his mission.
My attempt at a fable. What do you think?

I was skimming at first and missed the "lowly" part, and so I figured only a general would be this brazen; so I thought, "as long as he's got a good plan, he'll probably scare the hell out of them"... LOL... of course, a general's activities are rarely contained by a mission, so my fantasy fell apart before I reached the end of the paragraph. Amazing what tales of glory a brain can cook up in a few seconds!

Military milieu is not a democracy and there is little if any tolerance for individualism within its ranks. stupid fuck had it coming. Probably involuntarily elevated the average IQ of the standing army by getting himself offed. So you could call that an accomplishment I suppose LOL
