Corona viruses has been around for many, many years, and were discovered in the 1960's. Most of them are fairly harmless. What's new is this strain, dubbed the Wuhan corona virus.

SARS is one form of Caronavirus. This latest mutation is particularly dangerous because it mutates easily and rapidly and like all viruses leaps from human to human quite easily. Symptoms are same as with any upper respiratory disease; sneezing, congestion in the head, the esophagus and chest, watery eyes running nose, sore throat. Like the "common cold" there is no way to treat the virus itself. All that can be done is to treat symptoms. This new caronavirus, again like influenza is often fatal to the very old, the very young and those who are generally compromised. Healthy, strong people between ages 10 and 55 or so will in all likelihood survive an infection of corona virus.
Virologists have been telling us for decades that it is or was not a matter of if but a matter of when a new mutation of virus would come along that would be resistant to treatment. In that scenario it would be pandemic. Perhaps this new mutation of caronavirus is the one we were warned about. Perhaps not.
Might be a good idea to stock up on food and potable water enough to last several weeks or so because if panic sets in the food supply will dry up in one day maybe 2 days. This problem - panic - is probably presents as much if not more danger than the disease itself.
