@WilyRickWiles Well, it's somewhat comforting that Americans used to know something about how to deal with terrorists... If only more Americans would learn from history rather than trying to erase it!
The Revolutionary Black Panther Party considers itself the successor of Huey Newton's Black Panther Party. I guess you could argue that point, but that is what they say of themselves.
@DaveO276 What made these citizens terrorists? And what justifies their murder?
@WilyRickWiles I have looked into this a bit further... I may have misjudged Huey Newton personally, who seems to have been more peaceful in his approach than some of his peers.
Even his Black Panthers group appears to have only engaged in some behavior that would make them more akin to gangsters than terrorists, though I am not aware of him having been personally involved even in these activities. This was also during the days of the Hoover FBI, which may have been intent on some rather suspect opposition to the group.
Newton and some of his peers were heavily influenced ideologically by prominent socialists and communists like Marx, Lenin, and Mao, similar to the revolutionary Antifa terrorists of today. It appears he may have been part of an early, more moderate form of today's radical movement.
I have now learned something from studying this history and, in the process, modified my views. It looks like it could be an interesting movie and, like I said before - topical.
