95% of Maori land was bought in NZ and 5% taken as punishment. Almost all of the 5% were returned within massive compensation.
Yet we have so many that still claim all land is stolen since the British paid a shilling an acre in 1840 and now it is work $100 000 a hectare 2020.
Of course in the 1840 it was either swamps or inhabitable mountains at the wrong end of the world. Now it is world class farm land and orchards build with European and Asian technology.
Yet the claims of all land stolen does not got away.

It sounds a lot like what’s happening in South Africa right now! Of course, the white farmers being murdered and having their productive farms appropriated were there long before blacks emigrated from the north and genocided the sparse population of Bushmen...
I am an South African born New Zealander... so I have first hand experience.
There is no solution to South Africa’s problems... I left as there was nothing positive left for me to do.
Now I discovered I will need to fight the same was here in NZ... however in NZ the problem are at its infancy and I am doing the hard work to help the NZers understand that we need to solve this issue early on.
I have high hopes NZ will not make the mistakes South Africa did. However the NZ love affair with Socialism make me wonder if they really can learn from other countries mistakes.
