Sometimes conspiracy theories thrive only in the echo chambers of public opinion. But not all of them.

When we became THE player on the big stage during and after WWII, every other country and every person of ambition knew that if we could be led, tamed---in some manner controlled---they'd have the brass ring. The soviets knew it, our allies knew it and persons inside government knew it. Labor and Business knew it. Even the mob knew it. The media always knew it. Eisenhower had SEEN it, undoubtedly participated on some level in it, and warned us about it. Nonetheless, we muddled through.

When Kennedy was shot there was no end to the list of "possibles." It is a status quo which will remain because you can now see evidence and be told that it is no such thing. Evidence isn't proof of course, it's supportive of proof. So, as votes magically appear in the dead of night (always, and always from the same party) we are left with, "If no one was in the room to say the ballots were dumped, you can't prove anything." If you are a person who still wonders if a falling tree makes a sound, you are fodder for whatever manipulation comes your way.

Don't even get me started on the Global Warming scam...

The nail in the coffin of our credulities came in 1973. When the issue became a matter of "privacy" rather than Life, and most particularly innocent life---and when we were told that moments before birth the ONLY issue on the table was a woman's right to kill or not, all of Reality became whatever a politician, the media, a tech oligarch, needed it to be.

2001 is another perfect example...
We knew who the terrorists were, yet even I was on board with the 2nd Gulf War, believing we would leave a long term footprint in the region, believing what I'd always believed, that American might was what would make the "difference in the world."

So, we have a guy with a 52% approval rating---really as high as such things get, not in a time of war--- and he loses to a guy who never got out of a basement. The guy who saved our economy, put together a vaccine team at Warp Speed(we have it)
deliberately kept us OUT of war, peace accords in ME that no one thought could happen---again at warp speed--- and we're told that he lost PA the morning after leading by nearly a million ballots. Stock market? Didn't matter. Jobs? Didn't matter. In PA, Energy IS the economy. Think they voted "Green?"

Finally, we are the thing that will believe what it's told, without trusting it's "lyin' eyes." And even if we don't believe, it doesn't much matter.

Oh yeah, we're "a mark."

As most high profile crimes, the evidence was so compromised in the minutes directly after the crime that resolution of the facts became impossible.

So two camps of belief emerged, as always happens: Those who say they know what happened in spite of no evidentiary path, and those who believe the truth will never be known.

I side with Jim Garrison. His unedited video of his take of the incident reminds me of what’s happening today. We all know LBJ et al was behind it.
