Wars are often the cause of a unification of government and industry.
In the Civil War, Lincoln took command of the railroads and telegraphs and harnessed them,
whereas The South didn't. What counts is if after the war, does the government release industry or
do they retain possession?

In the Roman Republic, invaders were about to conquer Rome, and in desperation they
appointed Cincinnatus dictator. He vanquished the invaders and resigned the dictatorship
15 days after being appointed.

The unification of the Democratic party and the oligarchy occurred without needing a war.
Scary. In fact they're both bending the knee to China. Opposing China should have been a
unifying force for Americans. Republicans should virtue signal that they opposed China.

Often, a faction within a nation will bend the knee to a foreign power to gain control over the
nation. They become a vassal of the foreign power but the foreign power rewards them for selling
out their nation. This is how Iceland fell under the control of Norway in the 13th century.

The Democratic party doesn't command the oligarchy. The oligarchy commands the Democratic party.

There are many science fiction novels featuring a space society ruled by corporations.
Space is hard to get to. You can't get there without the help of a big corporation. It's a hostile
environment for small corporations. Once upon a time it was the government and NASA that owned space. Now SpaceX eclipsed NASA, and there are many oligarchs with a space program.
Earth will collapse and the future is an oligarchy-dominated space society.

Once upon a time the American frontier was hard to get to. The only way to get there was
rail, which spawned rail monopolies.

Some corporations are patriotic and they act synergistically with the government voluntarily.
The Democratic party is creating a government that is hostile to Republican corporations,
which will compel Republican corporations to cease being patriotic to the government.
Nice job Democrats.

Under Obama, corporations fled the U.S., and under Trump they came back. It must be that
Trump offered a better business environment than Obama. That's what governments should do,
to create a good free-market economy that attracts corporations and rich people to the country. It will be hilarious watching Republican corporations move their headquarters out of
the U.S. under the Biden administration.

Oligarchy naturally evolves toward more oligarchy. This is on Wikipedia as the "Iron Law of Oligarchy".
Corporations like to collude, and the easiest way to collude is to merge.

Praise Teddy for his record of busting up big corporations. That's what government should do, bust up corporations, not merge with them.
