So it’s almost almost a year into the Biden debacle, and it’s time to pause and reflect. Usually such comprehensive analyses proliferate closer to the midterm elections, which are rightfully seen as a referendum on the administration’s progress thus far. But the Biden mess is like a badly written novel: there’s no need to read past chapter one; we know the prose won’t miraculously become polished and elegant. What you see is all you’ll ever get.

Biden’s latest explanation for his rapidly diminishing approval ratings—people are getting misinformation about how bad their situation really is—leaves one breathless.

He said that. He really did. $7.00/gal gasoline in California is just misinformation. That 6.83% reduction in real wages is just you being a poor sport. Shut up and stop complaining.

It would be bad enough if we knew the words were his, but no one believes he comes up with anything coherent. Which means that the advisors surrounding the leader of the free world, supposedly there to keep up the pretense that he’s a real president, believed this would be an adequate response, one that would pacify the restless natives.

The question arises (one that is worth asking of the left in general): are they really this stupid and incompetent, to a degree that, as Jordan Peterson puts it, approaches the miraculous, or are they doing it on purpose and really don’t give a damn what we think? More to the point: do they really believe their bullshit, or do they just expect it of us?

Given that every credentialed economist whose name is not Paul Krugman agreed that The Green New Deal would bankrupt the country, the zeal with which the Democrats are rushing to put it into place before they’re rebuked and turned out of office next year, suggests that they accept that as an outcome and are perfectly fine with it. But still the question must be asked: do they know what they are doing, or are they just really stupid?

Of course, nothing says it’s an either/or proposition. I have no trouble believing that someone like Jen Psaki has the clear focus and dedication of a true believer and at the same time is too stupid to comprehend the inevitable implications of the programs she’s helping to implement and the ideological agenda she serves. That’s the trouble with true believers: their belief shields them from any dissenting perspectives and eliminates the need to actually look at the data.

Well, the data is in and once again the left demonstrates that they should never be put in charge of anything more consequential than a soup kitchen or animal shelter. And now the country knows it. So keep trying to gaslight us, guys. Go ahead. Keep it up. Blame the voters for the mess you’ve made. Sounds to me like a perfect strategy for winning.
