The $44 billion question is this: how does Musk intend to ‘authenticate’ humans on Twitter?
And at that price: Musk digital internet ID ? Is it biometric? Is is social credit system?

Remember Tesla, StarLink, Space X ,and now Twitter are all government tools of control, that they invested in and Musk is their mascot so people don't see it coming. Question is what does government do with billions of dollars worth of platforms that cover so many areas? The most logical thing is to connect them all with digital ID system and hook it up to UBI of some sorts.
Don't celebrate Musk to early. Wait and see.

Musk is under attack from the left, and this will push Musk to the right. Also, Musk is a hero in the Conservative community for buying Twitter. How often does it happen that oligarchs gain the status of hero?
A Texas rancher offered Musk 100 acres if he moves Twitter to Texas. Republican states everywhere are coaxing Musk to move to their state.
Biden just attacked Musk by establishing the Disinformation Governing Board.

While I love seeing Musk stick it to the self-righteous Left, he's way too volatility, too human, to receive blind trust. If that story about him using SpaceX to intervene in the Russia/Ukraine war is true (I have serious doubts), probably not.

I hear you. It begs the question of whether Musk actually has the true power to regulate and maintain real free speech while his platform is still connected to each country via their core routers.
As an example, Trudeau could ban or block Twitter just like China blocks apps, using their core router tables. What good is free speech if totalitarian leaders ban it or block certain posts or features? It begs another question: How has Trudeau not been assassinated yet?
At this point I still believe Musk is both creative and altruistic. I'll retain that believe until it is clearly proven false. So many are disturbed with neurolink. He initially said he developed it to help with spinal injuries and brain injuries, allowing the brain to communicate with the body by bi-passing the damage. He has also clearly stated that all technology had the potential for both good and evil. Time will tell which side he is really on. I'll hold with the innocent until proven guilty.

@Sensrhim4hizvewz I too am worried for the same reason. Although they all seem to hate him they will have no such compunction to then turn around and use his developments to their own evil ends.

Let me simply reference the PRISM program from more than 10 years ago that had secret agreements with big tech to provide governments with private user data without user approval or knowledge.
If authentication becomes standard, the mere fact that someone is "authenticated" can lead to direct charges against a user by governments like Trudeau's totalitarian regime because the courts will recognize the "authentication". Anonymity will no longer protect people from retribution by governments and corporations seeking to silence "wrong-think".
This is a God-send for Trudeau! He will be able to target "authenticated" persons he wants to silence
