Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button."Be Safe". An entire population hooked on being safe. This happened long before COVID. I suspect the news cycle with all the murders, shootings, destructive weather, etc. is partially at the root of this problem. Turning on fear propaganda is extremely easy when safety is the dominant tone of every day conversations. Progressives for decades have been pushing laws to keep people safe, every product you purchase has safety notices on them, often stuff that used to be common sense. we've all heard the joke "remove all the labels and let the gene pool fix itself". Sadly that saying is far too true. Watch your facebook account and see how often safety is mentioned or, in the alternative, "would you live by yourself in this cabin in the woods for a solid month to be rewarded with a million dollars", advertising a different kind of safety but safety none-the-less. How about "all I want is a roof over my head, good friends and good food". Again, safety, uneventful danger free life.
Life is filled with risk, unexpected events, accidents, medical diagnosis, illness, death. That is normal and most today are terrified of those risks. Far too many parents over protect their kids and wonder why they never fully fly the way the parents did when they were their age. Lots of "kids" don't even bother to leave home anymore. The underlying threat of safety is fear. How do we get generations to fully live these days when even universities offer "safe rooms" when anything terrible happens? Until "SAFE" becomes recognized for its dangers we can count on society to get worse and newer politicians to continue to try to protect idiots.

I survived horses, hitchhiking, and helmetless motorcycling.
@DMcCreery1956 I've always been adventurous, just kind of a sweet thrill. Unprotected in a parachute over Acapulco Bay, hitchhiking all over Ontario in the 70's, plenty of solo kayaking and camping trips, internet dating cross border, zip lining. Never was one to shy away from adventure. I feel so sorry for the timid. If I had been born a few decades later I definitely would have been an adrenaline junkie 
@toronto_Georgia It would be terrible to get to the end of one's life without ever having lived.
Bill Whittle is one of the most underrated American conservative thinker. He's a dynamo.
