People vote for it (free cheese) for their safety and comfort. The lie is that they are told it is free or the cost more bearable collectively. It is free for a few initially or at least made affordable. For those paying, it becomes increasingly expensive due to the bureaucracy delivering the free lunch becomes bloated and the few that were getting the service for free increases incrementally, year by year (a different discussion) until finally the table turns and the economy can no longer support it. It is then subject to the reduction of service, the introduction of fees and/or deductibles, and is a further drain on the economy. Soon there is not enough abundance in the economy to sustain it. At which point, its adminstration is seized by the State and the State will determine the size of the bureuacracy, The size of the industry, what comprises the service, the quality, quantity and who is deserving of it and who is not. The more unlikely alternative is to let it collapse. In the end the State collapses and along with it all of society.
