It’s easy to forget, but liberals weren’t always indistinguishable from socialists. In fact, they used to champion liberty, individual rights, and the sanctity of the Constitution. Of course, that was back when the left’s wet dream was that fascism, when it came to this country, would come from the right.
How times have changed. There are damned few liberals left. Two, who make no apologies for their liberal leanings, are, not coincidentally, constitutional lawyers of considerable repute, and have Both stood fearlessly against the mindless leftist mob speakIng up in the defense of President Trump and the legal traps that nearly ruined his administration. Alan Dershowitz, of course, has long been a voice crying in the wilderness, testifying against the left’s tyranny. Of late, Jonathan Turley has also stood up to be counted. Here, he takes apart the corrupt frame-up meant to entrap Michael Flynn.

Hello. I believe that in America, there are liberals who aren't part of the new wave of "liberalism" that is pushed by the corrupt Democrat party that only focuses on identity politics. They suffer from the generalization of liberals, especially with contempt; libtards, etc.
We have a similar situation in the UK.

Yes, there remains a fair number of American liberals who are neither SJWs nor Progressives nor even Social Democrats. We really need to dig up some definitions and force the ideologies back into boxes we can make knowable again.
