An excellent article from American Thinker that traces and clarifies the past decades of failed US policy towards Iran and Israel, and places the responsibility at the feet of the left’s delusions and outright lies regarding both nations.

Once again, Trump serves as the disrupter, merely by telling the truth. Well worth the read, as is the much longer article that this one references.

The article does not mention the long partnership between Shah Reza Pahlevi and the US. We had grown used to Iran as a friend and counterweight to strident Soviet allies in the Arab world. We felt we were natural allies. We have tried to restore that relationship for forty years.

The ayatollahs, however, need the US as a menacing enemy to justify their repression. They do not want the US as an ally.

An insightful article that will require a little research to verify certain facts. I remember the hostage situation during the Carter administration. I also remember the rescue attempt by the Regan admin. I believe the failed attempt may have been caused by a failure in intel (not understanding the military preparedness of the hostage takers) or by a failure to keep the mission hidden from the hostage takers (was the info leaked by somebody in the administration holding on to the appeasement doctrine) or a combination of both.

At any rate, we (Americans) had grown weary of the Cold War and the policy of MADD (mutually assured destruction doctrine) and this was a disruption that was likely backed by the USSR. Regan is to be credited for his focused (almost recklessly focused) efforts to “bring down that wall” and weaken our strongest foe who backed so many proxy wars.

I never saw any comparison of Trump to Regan until about half way through his first term. They were both accused of being recklessly unprepared for the job and so crazy they would get us into WWIII. I believed the propaganda about Regan when I was in college and I was proven an ignorant fool. However this moved me from being a convinced liberal to a compassionate conservative. In so changing my perspective, I obtained a little more faith in our American model and the possibility of moving from my “below the poverty line” lower class status into a higher class if I worked hard enough and learned the system. As God has blessed my efforts and I have moved up steadily, I have become more and more conservative while holding on to my desire to help others (compassionate conservative). I believe Trump will have this same effect on many. He may even put an end to the slavery imposed upon the minority communities by the democrat lies (e.g. “you are a powerless victim of the system that was set up by the big bad rich white guys and we are your only hope” )
