Trump has been calling the media industry the enemy of the people for a long time. Everyone has thought, “There’s Trump’s branding genius at work again.”
What if that’s not it? What if he’s been dead serious all along. Looks like they really are working for the enemy.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.at first I only thought Trumps characterization of "the media" being the enemy of the people as an almost metaphorical expression. today we see very obvious evidence that the "enemy of the people" characterization is abjectly true.
I suppose one could argue that the media is not deliberate or intentional in their adversarial positioning to ultimate interests of "the people" but that they are more likely just acting solely on their own self interest. Trying to be the first with the story, the most watched and listened to, the most revenue generating source...either way the result is the same. They clearly do NOT have the best interests of "the people" at heart and the undeniable result is that the ARE the enemy of the people.

I know many reporters. Those with integrity have repeatedly been faced with pressure from management to sensationalize the news to build readership or viewership. This manipulation has also been recognized by activists as an opportunity to shape public opinion - almost always by the Left, because by definition, conservatives are defenders of the Constitution so it is abhorrent to them to use coercion of any kind. That means the most profitable "news" organizations become that way by sensationalizing news and eventually are co-opted or bought outright by wealthy leftwing activists. That makes a hostile environment for all but left-leaning "journalists." The New York Times itself reported that 87% of reporters are Democrats. They probably thought that would be regarded as a good thing, or they would have buried it.
There are many of us who have been regarding most of the media as "public enemy number one" for a very long time. The mud slung at Trump has had two effects. 1. I no longer have any doubts about the man. 2. Some others wonder if there is something to it, even though Democrats have been looking for smoke for three years to prove there is fire. And somehow their transparent impeachment sham wasn't enough to prove the media in the pocket of the Left. Can't say I'm impressed with the speed of their reasoning.
