The Department for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, whose Minister is The Hon. Paul Fletcher MP. Personally I don't rate Fletcher very highly. After all... the ABC comes under his purview. Paul William Fletcher (born 16 January 1965) is an Australian Liberal Party politician serving as Minister for Communications and Arts since 2019, and has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Bradfield since 2009. Fletcher would be described as some as just another Lawyer in Politics and his interest seems to be mostly in Communications not the Arts. Not sure why these 3 groups are lumped together as a Department. Probably oops... we forgot Arts... oh... just lump it in with Communications, its no biggy. Personally I don't think that we can rely on the good will of private investors or sponsorship or philanthropy in Australia, to back The Arts. Mind you various Arts projects are already funded by private interests.

Some years are better than others, and about every 10 years or so we have bigger bushfires. Weather conditions and the build-up of fuel have the most impact on these fires. These are not caused by climate change our climate has changed very little for a very long time. Oh… and many are started by arsonists or accidents. We are a country that has regular: droughts, floods, cyclones, bushfires… and we even get the occasional earthquake. These things are not new and not unusual. They are even recorded in Australian poetry. This has been happening for millennia. Millennia. That’s right… millennia. Those that understand evolution know that it is not a rapid process. We have plants that have evolved to use fire in order to reproduce. It didn’t happen overnight, in a week, in a year, over a decade or even a century… it has taken millennia. So please don’t make the mistake of using us as an example of climate change alarmism. Go back to school… and learn about the real world.

Firstly it's a myth to think that the Private sector can do things better than the Public sector. I worked for a state government Utility that had a triple A credit rating. Until Greiner changed it into a business of small businesses and privatised it... where upon it lost its cohesiveness and its triple A rating. You can find talent just about anywhere. If you take the time to look. But back to The Arts which have always lived off the good will and sponsorship of well to do benefactors. There is no reason a Government can't be such a benefactor and sponsor. But should it? That is the question. Certainly IMO it should... but only in certain circumstances. Like losing a talent or skill for example. I can't remember the last knowledgeable Minister of the Arts we have had in state or Federal government, usually like now they have just been rewarded with a soft portfolio, where they can enjoy the lurks and perks and get fat on good wine and good lunches at various exhibitions and openings. It seems to me that for a very long time now The Arts funds have largely been chewed up by the ABC... because the Department is Communications and The Arts at a Federal level. Also many grants and funding seems to go to LW Progressives, probably due to indoctrination by the Education Systems in Australia. I'm sure Australians are all aware of how that works here. How much money gets wasted? My guess is... lots and lots. Who would give Clementine Ford for example a grant to write some Lefty tome like... oh I don't know... WHY ALL MEN DESERVE MY HATRED... whilst pretending its going to be some feminist manifesto classic. I find that getting anything published these days is almost impossible. The ABC these days no longer accept UNSOLICITED Manuscripts. Publishers high and low are now too scared to take a risk or even look at nascent books and authors no matter how talented they are. They simply go to the Well of Woke and imbibe.
