I lived in Rockledge Florida 2004-2005 and moved to Arkansas summer 2005, and we had to hunker down from Katrina up here. We felt like the hurricanes had followed us. Lots of people opened up their homes to help others out, and the horror stories that developed from that helping others in need and the abuse of that kindness, just sickening. No telling how many walked into traps of predators either.

@eschatologyguy ahh I see, I think....I am not running on coffee today so I am a bit foggy, like when I said 5775 meant 5774 try looking into Codes of Hammurabi, it might interest you, if are interested on the ancients, perhaps where Moses got his start lol I agree on the ancient calendar being common among ancient civilizations because of commerce/ trade & various things. Everyone watched the stars then, measured time ect. The 7 day week thing reminds me of the schism when there was a change over from the Augustian calendar to the Gregorian one in use now. There was a time period of 10 days I think, that got corrected but the Church of England refused to go along for quite some time. And if I remember correctly, when England finally decided to synchronize with Europe it went from Sept 1 to Sept 10., and there were large protests about it. But at one point, they were using 2 different dates at the same time and it screwed up business trade travel between the nations. An interesting side note, this correction instituted by the church of Rome was only pointed out as a science flaw to the Jesuits by the Mayans or the Aztecs when their contact & cultural exchange was taking place BEFORE the conquistadors had destroyed them, maybe WHY they obliterated them. The Hebrew calendar is lunar cycle based and somewhat intricate, if not downright complicated. Gregorian calendar has leap days, yes? Hebrew calendar has leap months, that only come around so often (Adar will have Adar 2). I have heard people say they are one of those people that doesn't seem to have a birthday. @HistoryCorner I did not even consider the dried seaweed; the animal dung yes, it was readily available source for western American indigenous people from bison, so figured the same from livestock. I thought maybe an occasional wash up on shore of trees from a storm but that would not be sustainable, and maybe too valuable to burn if you could make a spoon or something like bow & arrow, spear. Thought maybe they did ocean hunting and got seal oil or occasional whale. Very cool though anyway you look at it. Thanks again very much. :-)
