There was a man who did 10 years in Chicago County Jail because of a divorce (indirectly), his wife got custody of a daughter, despite his complaint with proof that she was incompetent as a parent. Eventually, the state got custody of the daughter because the wife was that bad, and he had to petition for visitation rights and he was finally granted it BUT under supervised visits and he had done no wrongs. One visit, his daughter told him they were abusing her, and the perpetrators custodians of the state, told her she was to be quiet and they had warned her not to say anything. So he took her by force at that moment, and hid her from the authorities. He refused to tell them where she was but just said she was safe now. So the judge gave him contempt until he would break and tell where she was. He never did, he was resolute. Finally, after all those years, it became pointless to hold him because she was an adult in her early 20s by then.
