Someone challenged my conservative-ness because I'm an Intimacy Specialist. He asked how I was conservative. I answered with the following:
Not all conservatives are the same.
I believe in small government. I don't believe in the working class carrying the weight of everyone else. I believe in workfare, not welfare. I don't believe in affirmative action. I believe in citizen gun ownership. I believe in pro-choice, but not abortion for birth control. I'm very much not a feminist. I believe in the death penalty... but like right away, not 20 years on death row. I believe in the nuclear family, in men being men and people owning up for themselves instead of blaming everyone else. I don't condone the victim mentality and don't feel guilty for other people's ills. I believe in learning all aspects of history and am anti-political correctness...
I don't know if I hit every aspect, but that seems good enough.

A simpler answer might be "There's no politics to intimacy. If there is, you're probably doing it wrong."

Let me tell you... many people are doing it wrong.
Kinda of the same way they're doing it wrong in sports. LOL!
@ktpinto Maybe I can throw a dart at the board and you tell me how close I come to the bullseye.
I can sort of see why. Our beliefs are very personal--intimate--to us as people trapped in our own skulls and only able to approximate other people. If politics are important to us we will tend to want people close to us to validate them.. And in the current radicalized environment for both left and right,, someone from the other side of the partisan abyss could feel alien and threatening even if we're compatible everywhere else.
@Vorlonagent Sort of... intimacy, like everything else, only works if you're open, honest and able to listen and appreciate your partner. Politics has ruined, well, a lot of that.
The Federal government is twice the size it should be.
Twice the expense, twice the intrusiveness, twice the divisiveness, twice the corruption, twice the probability that government will become a dictatorial Police State etc.
Big brother is E V I L .
Minimize the Fed to necessary functions. The Fed should have NOTHING to say about anything social or personal in our lives. It’s time to rid ourselves of partisan politics.
