One of my closest friends decided she wanted to become a man after her mother died. I tried to talk her out of the decision, in part talking to her about the high rate of suicide among those who went through the sex change operations because they realized they had suffered all that insanity of surgery an hormone therapy only to learn they had not become the man or woman they were told they would become but were just the man or woman they originally were in a heavily mutated body, their "feelings" had not changed. Sadly she did not listen, perhaps I did not fight hard enough. She died back 2018. The death was declared of natural causes, but her and I brother both think it was suicide.

When we discussed the high suicide rate she tried telling me studies showed that most of the sex change suicides were not about the surgery failing, but because the people were depressed their freinds and family did not "accept" them after the surgery was done. Then she was telling me the rates had also declined because they were including follow psychological therapy in the treatment plans to help with the transition. The numbers changed because of the spin, and information the "authorities" decided to leave out about the suicides, rather than the reality changing.

I feel like blaming science is unfair, and it seems to me similar to blaming our body and calling it "weak" and "defective", when it's a VERY effective and powerful system.
We have always undermined our body, because we don't understand what it's telling us and refuse to try to understand how it works.

The problem is our interpretation of things and lack of understanding of things as a whole, and our obsession with thinking one thing will work for the entire human population.
Studies aren't wrong, they worked for the people IN the study. Whether they will work for people not in the study, is some whole ass other thing, because those are different people.

There's a guy in instagram, his handle is stopchasingpain who talks about this stuff, and it can be quite illuminating.

This is truly tragic. these poor people need someone to try and help them rather than feed their delusions.
