If he was arrested simply for taking a different stance on the real facts concerning COVID-19 and how it should be deal with, then his arrest would certainly be a travesty.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I don't think many other Western nations have a particular right to free speech embedded in a Constitution that is intended to be an overarching principle of law for their country. For example, although Australia has a Constitution, it does not have a delineated right to free speech so far as I know. Maybe @Dave0276 could inform us better on that. I'm just using that as an example of a similar "Western" country to the U.S., which has a Bill of Rights in its Constitution that is intended to ensure free speech.
Well, I would think there would be a limit on how long he can be detained without charge (at least in normal circumstances). I don't know what kind of emergency powers may be in place. Are there any UK people here who can shed light on what his rights are currently under UK law?
