Back in the 70’s they said the same thing about the Russian bear. Almost the exact same thing, actually. Then, Ronald Reagan called themselves an evil empire, drove them into an arms race their smoke and mirrors economy couldn’t hope to sustain, helped bleed them dry in Afghanistan the way they’d done to us in Vietnam Nam, and went to Berlin and told Gorbachev “Tear down this wall,” when everyone else told him to be polite. You know how that ended.

China’s definitely a military power, largely on the strength of technology they either stole from us or was sold to them by the Clintons, but their economy is as rickety as The Soviet Union’s, and they command the devotion and loyalty one would expect from a population under the yoke of a brutal totalitarian regime.

We’ll see how that works out, but it’s looking like we’re heading for an rxtended round of poke the tiger.

China would instantly lose its biggest market. It would be suicide.
The thought also comes to mind: what happens if the US tells the Chinese to bugger off and defaults?
It would mean a worldwide depression that would make the dirty thirties look like a church picnic!

The number of soldiers is irrelevant. Today’s battles are fought with technology. The US outspends every other nation by far! Is China prepared to go nuclear?

I believe the Chinese will continue with what they are doing: buy up as much real estate and business as they can in and around the US and continue sending a steady wave of "migrants" (have you seen the west coast of Canada lately? The Chinese are well on their way to being the majority in Vancouver BC!); and, continue to steal technology and infiltrate infrastructure. Prime Minister Trudeau has just opened the door for even more Chinese spying!

@MarieBabik Exactly, it does not matter how much the bear is poked, China will not strike until the time is right. Even then, the Americans have their nukes. Nothing is more dangerous than an injured animal. There is no scenario that ends well for humanity.
