And if Downstate New York is carved out as a separate entity, it leads the world, while the rest of the nation fits comfortably into a normal range

Just remember. Each death listed as a Covid death is worth several times more in government compensation than a non-Covid death... and the longer they can bullshit the public regarding the danger, the more money they rake in.

I just finished this article on the same subject but more of an explanation in layman’s terms. I thought it would clarify things a bit for me but .. I still don’t understand, why do they insist on fudging the numbers in the US. Do you think they are doing this to justify a mandatory vaccination?

It is part of the narrative that Trump is incompetent and must be removed.
It is exactly the opposite in NZ. Ardern “defeated” the virus and we have the “best” government in the world.
I think there is a multi-faceted 'thing' going on with the fudging of the COVID-19 numbers. #1 the more COVID numbers you report the more Federal a$$istance you get for your state/district/hospital. #2 Scare the hell out of everybody so they are more receptive to #3 universal vaccination. The results of which will be another lost opportunity for herd immunity. Mumps, measles and chicken pox: everyone I knew growing up had all three. Now everybody is vaccinated for them as children. Nobody I knew ever died from the 'big three' as we called them....and nobody knew anyone who was autistic. Just sayin'.
