So Trump lost again in the courts, eh? Can’t block opposing opinions from his Twitter account, eh? Aw... those nasty liberals. Look again: see who really lost.
The ruling specifically states that Twitter “is properly characterized as a designated public forum,” and that President Trump’s personal First Amendment interests can’t legally justify blocking users.
This one’s heading to the Supreme Court— not Trump’s case, but all the lawsuits against Twitter/YouTube/Google censorship that will now cite it as a precedent. In another opinion, Justice Anthony Kennedy already likened internet platforms to “the modern public square.”
Relax, conservatives and libertarians. No one is saying the heavy hand of government regulation needs to be part of this discussion. Only that we adhere to the most American of traditions: free speech in the town square.

"Trump's loss" will end up being our gain. In their effort to force Trump to actively ignore Trolls instead of blocking them, Twitter, Pinterest, Google and YouTube got declared public platforms that can't censor.
