Winning, old-fashioned lobbying, political prowess... Us common folk call it bribery. Some other words would be graft, fixing, payoffs, and in some case extortion.

But don't shed any tears for the medical industry, they can afford it.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I try to stay off medications completely. We all know most only curb the symptoms and very rarely fixes the problem. Symptoms by nature are to warn us, just like fever naturally fights most infections. Then we are told to take fever reducers and take antibiotics to fight the infection. There is a question now that antibiotics may have a negative play on cancer and the immune system.

I remember many years ago reading that the aim of pharmaceutical companies was that everyone would be on some form of medication. At the time it seemed ludicrous but we are well on our way. A friend of mine takes a daily concoction of 6 pills. There is nothing wrong with him but his doctor said the medications might be useful as a preventative. The days of only being treated when you have or are likely to have an actual problem are gone.

I have dealt with the medical industry in the past ten years than the rest of my life put together, and I have no trust in it at all. I am currently on five meds three of which I know I must have. The others are questionable but when you are told you must take them or suffer consequences and about the only way to find out is risk the consequences I take the meds.
I had a heart attack ten years back. When I was in recovery they came in every 3 hours to take vitals, and they were checking my blood sugar telling me it was fine then would shoot me up with insulin. The first 4, or 5 times I was too doped up to realize what was happening but when I was awake and asked why nobody could tell me anything other than the doctor ordered it. I refused any more shots until I talked with the doctor and he denied having ordered it. Never did get any answers on that, or answers from the heart doctor on any other questions.
I tend to annoy my current doctor because he wants me to undergo different tests just because I passed 55 years of age, and I am refusing.
