Word’s out that that the Wayward Royals are going to stay in Canada during their initial years of self-imposed exile. But, they assure us, they’ll be moving to LA just as soon As Trump is out of office. Don’t you just love it when irrelevant idiots feel compelled to bathe us in their “wokedness” as they virtue signal their way through their delusional little lives?

Of course LA would be the logical destination for their hegira; California is the birthplace of the “famous for being famous” set after all. But, really, can the kulturesmog tolerate yet two more Kardashisns? Even if one of them has a British accent?

Of course it can. The lovely yet ambitious Meghan has already been swimming in those shark infested waters and no doubt has kept her teeth honed to a fine edge. She’ll do fine.

It’s Harry I’d worry about, if there was any reason to give a fuck about Harry. While in certain quarters, the idea of royalty holds a certain cachet, it helps to be an actual royal. Meghan has never been one, and with Harry well on his way to “Where is he now?” status, by the time their ragtag circus-train of an entourage rolls into LA, they may find a collective yawn and a “Who cares?” to greet them.

King Edward was at least a real king, before he gave up his throne for true love. His story was the stuff of Lifetime movies, and he and his wife managed to stretch that thin advantage for the rest of their otherwise unemployable lives. Harry started out as a second-tier prince who was always a safe distance from the succession, who has accomplished nothing on his own, and he’s now shown himself to be little-more than Meghan’s lapdog.

How long before she realizes she faces a future like Sarah Ferguson and decides hawking diet programs might not be her ticket to ride? At that point she’ll call the whole excursion into Royal-land a disaster and do whatever it takes to divest herself of any remaining trappings of her former life.

Meanwhile, in another ten years, we’ll find Harry perched on a bar stool somewhere insignificant, telling anyone sober enough to listen, “I used to be prince. Really, I wouldn’t make that up.”

ALTERNATE ENDING: rumblings now of a possible tell-all interview with Oprah. All the above speculation could be negated by the simple fact that they might well never leave Canada alive. 1,000 year old institutions, by definition, have accrued abundant survival skills, and if they hadn’t been willing to exercise them, when necessary, they wouldn’t have lasted 1,000 years.
