Work ethic would be one economic reason. Plenty of legal migrant workers come from Mexico, who start in the South, planting trees or picking crops by hand, such as strawberries. They move a bit north and go detassle corn, and we use to 'walk beans'. After that its north to, like say Michigan, and pick cherries or apples. When you get paid minimum wage or get paid more money for production rate, the laziness factor becomes apparent in that work ethic. Plenty of better qualified people lost their jobs to Affirmative Action and that form of reverse discrimination. Its is reflective of the learning curve and bringing the standards down to achieve an allusion of equality by government mandate while reinforcing lackadaisical complacency. I have no cell phone now. It was convenient then, my mom could call and find me anywhere lol I had a pre-paid verizon flip cover phone (my mom said it looked like the communicator from Star Trek lol ) & that I had acquired on September 10, 2001 and activated on the morning of the 11th. Pure coincidence. I had won 400 or 500 $ at Bingo on Saturday, so I splurged. Hard to forget that stuff. Had it for years. My kids have phones now, just simple Straight talk, but has recording cameras; for when they are off the farm, in town, they always call, just in case I forgot something last minute kind of thing. I do have a tablet, and that is basically a phone as well, but I don't use it that way. Was good for loading coupons at the grocery stores but now they want YOU to upgrade YOUR phones for their new system, and I am like WHHHAAATTT?? Seems to be a blatant form of oppressing the poor around here ~ to me.

About/around 3 or 4 years ago, on FB --- they started promoting not killing opossums on several groups I belong to, and they had behavior control scientists trying to influence opinion and change minds AND got the emotionally manipulatable all fired up with irrational demagoguery. If you did not capitulate then you were ostracized, shamed and all their other techniques THAT they still use now. Another favorite is to make up a supposed scenario and use that as the justifiable example to make cognitive dissonance palatable. They did and do the same with gun control and any other liberal agenda objectives they wish to push, even if it is hypocritical of their previous known positions.
