Question

Ok mostly a question for the Conservatives out there but anyone can chime in. I think I’ll know the answer most will give for part of this but here we go; most left leaning scripted show and most right leaning scripted show. Preferably don’t include night time talk shows or SNL (shows meant to be political commentary)z

Almost all scripted entertainment leans left, because progressive values are so deeply embedded in the industry. In the pre-woke era, the networks and movie production companies had a censorship department to keep an eye on “morality”, like referees ready to call “foul” on swear words, kisses that lingered too long, or, gasp, a man and a woman sharing a bed.

The censors still exist, but they no longer care about dirty words and sex scenes. Now powerful diversity reps like Effie Brown have the power to halt shooting at the first sign of, in one case, of a black extra dressed as a limo driver. Figures like Dominick Evans run companies contracted by Hollywood to screen scripts and shoots to judge whether they are filling quotas for disabled and LGBT characters.

It’s nearly impossible for any project to get a greenlight unless characters fit the woke narrative (flawed men, strong woman, and preferences for “types” like black, female judges or lately, women in hijabs). They plot usually centres on conflict related to race, immigration, sex, gender or the environment. The villains are usually older, white men, usually rich and powerful, and always capitalists. The victims are invariably poor, black, or immigrants, and must always be presented in a sympathetic light.

The Academy Awards are now weighing the woke perspective in choosing Oscar nominees.

It’s reminiscent of the Soviet system of ensuring media and entertainment always supported the official state narrative. Or of a more innocent time in America, when censors ensured the message was always innocent and wholesome.

I don't watch many TV shows because, frankly, most of them have such a Left leaning agenda. There is one that leans Right that my wife and I like to watch, which is Blue Bloods.

I think that from the Right you are going to hear much like the first two comments: they don't watch TV. I haven't in a decade....

I don't watch tv but I've been hearing a lot about a movie that might take the award for furthest left. It's called "The Hunt". I haven't watched it so idk

I haven't watched main stream TV in a long time, but The West Wing was a quality program that swung probably 60/40 left/right. Aaron Sorkin always seemed to make the Dems on that show look foolish just a little less often than he did Republicans. But network TV is a little too formulaic for me anymore, so I doubt this will help you.
