And 'put in a garden' even if its in pots on your patio. Buy a food-saver to stock up your freezer and/or can food if that's in your skill set or learn how to do it. Stick up in staple supplies. I'm preparing this year's garden (with legacy non-GMO seeds) and talking with my neighbors to see if some of them want to help work maintain it as well as chip in for % of the supply costs of the garden in exchange for produce. I will enlarge the square footage depending on how many want to participate. Even if no one wants to at first later, as the costs inflate and the availability shrinks, they will come round. No matter I will share, trade/ barter or perhaps sell to meet my needs for other items. Grateful I live in a place that supports just about a year round growing season.
Lay in supply of over-the-counter meds and prescription meds either through your Doc (good- luck with that) or an online pharmacy. I used this online Canadian Pharmacy previously so don't be put off by their opening page advertising viagra & cialis as they carry a large inventory of medications available but not narcotics. Also, think about purchasing a nebulizer with extra face-masks and first aid supplies.

@dd54 Aloha. I had a neighbor who went back to the Big Island to die last year. He lived on the Eastern side of Hawaii too. His name was Henry and he was loved by all who know him in the Smoky Mountains. I don't know the resting place of his remains, but anywhere on the island that he loved will be good enough. Drink a toast to him for me.
