WTF? Like that’s even a thing?
I guess in the minds of legal and political illiterates like Lieu and Swalwell, it constitutes an outcome, but they shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for it to take the place of “innocent until proven guilty,” or quaint notions like “The burden of proof rests with the state.”
“Not exonerated” is leftist Newspeak for “They lost their case,” which is what any other prosecutor in the land would have to admit if they couldn’t prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
But then, this was never a normal prosecution. There was no crime for which a defendant stood accused. This was a target around whose neck they hoped to drape a crime. If they could find one. Or manufacture one. Or simply lie one into existence.
This prosecution was never intended to reach a conclusion. It was intended to win by attrition, and had there been someone like Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney in office, they’d long ago have resigned in exhaustion.
Except neither of those two would have been subjected to this ordeal. Why would they: they were members of the club. Trump announced his contempt and scorn for the club from the outset. So he had to be taken out, by any means possible.
Too bad for them, they took on the wrong man. They never imagined he’d still be standing, which explains their total lack of an endgame.
Stay tuned for Round 53, where Nancy Pelosi claims Trump groped her at his inauguration, and all DC pukes at the thought.

In the Soviet Union they had show trials. In the US we have show investigations. They hurt the subjects because only billionaires can afford to lawyer-up against the resources of the US government. And even then the government outmatches them because the government doesn't care how much money it spends.
My formulation is that Lisa Paige and Peter Strozk exchanged texts about there being no collusion when Mueller's team was just getting started. Yet the investigation ground on for almost two more years. So the investigation couldn't be about what they said they were investigating.
