Norway suffered longer under the Nazi boot than any other country other than Austria, Czechosovakia and Poland. The Norse are heroes because they came out intact in the end. Duly chastened, I did some careful soul searching and found that my pride was in the way of my gratitude, and that was the lesson our Lord was giving me.
