Bill Salus: Psalm 83
Any of the previous wars that Israel had with its neighbours did not fulfill the prophecy of Psalm 83 because (1) based on a parallel prophecy in Obadiah 1:7, they lacked the peace agreements that we have now in the Abrahamic accords, and (2) the sorrounding neighbours still run their own territories. Psalm 83 ends with the house of Jacob "possessing their possessions" (Obadiah 1:17-21). If bible prophecy is to be believed, then expect Israel's territory to soon grow. I didn't say that; Obadiah and Asaph did. But what do I think? I think that If God declares it, it's going to happen.
Like most Western-centric Prophecy teachers, Bill Salus is among those who view Russia as Magog. And if you listened to what he said, he said "Rosh, Meshech and Tubal" (at intros in both Ezek 38 and 39). But when you read the passage, you do not find "Rosh". Because it is Hebrew ראשׁ (pronounced "rô'sh" ) translated to "chief" in in the phrase "chief prince of Meshech and Tubal" in both chapters in Ezekiel. And that is how Russia is being shoehorned into a role that does not belong to it. Never mind if Russia does not think to change times and laws (Dan 7:25). Never mind if the Russians are not related to the Scythians (the descendants of the Magogians). Never mind if the Russian Orthodox Church believes in the Trinity and Russians do not worship a god of war. If you think about it, Russia is the odd one out, one which prophetically doesn't belong. Is Russia among the "good" nations? I don't think there are any "good" nations at this time. Why else would Christ be coming to judge the nations?
