Are we talking about a check from the government, or just medical help if they contract covid-19 while here?

         I think they should not be monetarily aided for breaking a law.  That does not mean that we just let them die either.  If we refuse to treat them of Covid-19 then we are just encouraging an infection vector.  It is a hard decision on how hard should we discourage illegal immigration.  
                     So for the stimulus money I think that only citizens or legal immigrants/visa owners should be eligible.  As for infection, if they are already here they should be treated, whether we send them back should be based on issues after this pandemic is under control.

NO.. if for no other reason than failing to treat them only helps the virus and hurts Americans. I question any ones common sense if they think leaving those individuals untreated is helpful.

No. Assistance should be provided based upon need, not any kind of merit. In terms of health care, it's a public health issue for all of us.

And for perspective - my cousin is an American citizen residing in Germany. She and her husband will receive 5000 Euros per month for three months of shelter-in-place. Kind of puts our one-time $2400.00 to shame. If you're in their country, you get the assistance.

I agree with the people who are included in the most recent COVID-19 Stimulus bill. It covers American Citizens, Green Card holders, and people that are here on a number of work visa types. There is a benefit to Citizenship and a Legal Non-Citizen Status within our country (and other countries for the most part). This pandemic is a prime example of why there are many in our country who feel that getting our immigration challenges under control is very important. Controlling who comes into our country is the first line of defending it, whether that be defending it from people who wish us harm, or viruses that don't care.

This is a very interesting question. On one hand you have the idea that yes as we have millions of Americans that have filed for unemployment. A record amount that is scaring economists everywhere. Thousands of people in New York are dying right now. On the other hand the United States simultaneously wants to help those around the world who are being affected by this. As states who recover from the virus help other states afterwards so will this process continue with volunteers going from nation to nation. We also give a large amount of money to the World Health Organization (they're not doing the best job at the moment to say the least).
