If they wanted to modify the Constitution I would support an amendment that would force government officials to live by laws they want to force on the citizens for at least one full year before the law can be voted on to be made a full law. In a case like this where they are wanting to monitor all credit card (which would include all debit card) transactions then they should have to live by that edict for a year with the findings being published in national publications.
If they still pass these idiotic ideas into law then this public accounting of their personal affairs remains in place as long as they are in office, and will be there for all others who get elected to office.
Heck I would support such a law for public officials even if they were not making decisions to spy on citizens even more than they do in violation of Constitution and anything decent already. Couple with with annual audits of their finaces and those using public funds to pay for mistresses, and cover up things like sexual assault lawsuits would be much easier to prove, and make it easier to prosecute.

If anyone in power had a conscience, or some other reason to remain lawful, then they might use your idea, or they might use a better idea, or they might just decide to enforce the actual law.
They don't. So your idea, or any employment of human conscience, or any competitive application of reason towards holding criminals to an accurate accounting of the facts that matter in any case, or just any idea that is honest, is an idea that is absent in the so-called government.

That confesses a useful fact. They, as a rule, consume their victims because they can. They are immune from the laws they enforce on their victims because they say so, and they say so in writing no less.

That should alert anyone with a need to know better from worse that those in power issued, and enforce, edicts. Edicts, if I am not mistaken, are behaviors that must be acted out without question, and those who do not follow the order - to be followed without question - will suffer punishment not limited to fine, imprisonment, torture in or out of prison, rape in or out of prison, death, and death of everyone you care about, if that is what it takes to get you in line.

State Taxes (yet again expanding up the pyramid toward the criminal top)
Income Taxes (National "protection money" extortion fees required to create a demand for the counterfeit money)
Sales Taxes (Efforts to control the creation of employers so as to maintain the imbalance in the Labor Markets)

Statutes, such as Statute 1 (Declaration of Independence), Statute 2 (Articles of Confederation), are not Laws. Statutes are suggestions, Laws are enforced by the people as a whole, and laws are enforced by the employees who are hired by the people, or enforced by the people themselves. If you do not know the difference between a law and a statute, then it stands to reason from my view that you are up in arms (speaking is an armament: deception for aggression, and truth for defense) from a weak position in need of strength.

Good points mostly. My commentary was more being facetious, than being serious. Most the laws that exist should be stricken, they certainly don't need to be making more. The government that governs best governs least.
I would like to point out I did not call the politicians idiots, but rather their laws idiotic, which I stand by. However the fact they got elected does not actually indicate they are intelligent people. Take this broad from Virginia. I believe she honestly thinks this law she is proposing is a good idea, and will stop gun violence. AOC is anything but intelligent. She got elected because the group Justice Democrats manipulated the system with millions of dollars. AOC just had her name put into a casting call for the best airhead that met the qualifications of being a woman, and a minority. I expect much the same process was used in getting Ilhan Omar elected to office.
Now you are basically calling me an idiot for paying any kind of tax that foots the bills for these elected cons. Tell how is you have found a way not to pay any taxes at all and still not live under a bridge. Another questions that comes to mind, if those in power should find out what kind of prison sentence would you get?
