I am a "stay away from everyone during any holiday" person.
I can barely stand the humanity at best of times, let alone the fat, old, young, don't know which shop aisle to go into, looking like a dazed inbred banjo player, lane cutting, tattooed legging and board shorts humanity during holidays.
Not saying I am better, just saying that if we got hammered by an asteroid tomorrow I have a bottle of bubbly just for the occasion.
Now time to meditate and focus on the positives... The meteorite will come — a question of when, rather than if.
On a serious note, call it any way you want. Just don't ask me for any money.

"happy holidays"from thanksgiving to new years eve except on christmas day and thanksgiving. they get a "merry christmas" or "happy thanksgiving" . but... these are also applied to offschedule family celebrations...
"happy new year" until i get a sense that everyone has received their december bills and statements, figuring out how to pay them, and realizing that we are stuck. in some song that starts off "366 bottles of beer on the wall..." that gives you thedual anxiety vectors where every bottle less is a year less of interest payments and how many days left until you find a better job this year.

There's no real debate over this, since Christmas is included in the holidays referenced in happy holidays. They both wish a person joy during a time of peace and celebration. Since there's no substance to the "war on Christmas" it doesn't matter.

I feel like Christianity is under threat, especially when some businesses forbid employees to wish people a Merry Christmas. Government employees are also cautious to say those words lest they offend people.
When did Jesus become offensive? I’m happy to return a Happy Hanukkah or Salim Ramadan. Why should people be so offended that banks have every Christmas symbol hanging on their walls except Jesus? JESUS!
