They will need smaller systems similar to Israel's Iron Dome, or maybe directed energy weapons. The point I'm really making here is that Ukraine is no friend of Russia, and that Turkey is arming them. Russia may still have about a decade or two to make improvements, but it will still end in a full scale no survivors nuclear war (with the coming of the 2nd horseman), otherwise we wouldn't be reading Matt 24:22

It's tough to figure out just who is identified in prophecy. Sometimes it's people groups, sometimes it's geographical areas later occupied by different people groups. People have been debating who does what in Ezekiel 38 since Ezekial 39. Of this I am sure, it will happen.

There are those who are moving geographical locations, too, like the "seat of Satan" in some pagan shrine in Pergamos has reportedly been moved to a museum in Germany (I don't know if you've heard of that one). But Germany doesn't think to change times and laws, or disregarding the desires of women. Or practices slavery and perform decapitations as punishment.

The great thing about the bible is that it gives us numerous clues on a topic from different passages. As one insightful pastor once described it: it's as if it were a coded message sent through the chatter that was designed to counter "hostile jamming", the "here a little, there a little" of Isaiah 28:10, where the message is like being spread over the whole bandwidth. Even if you remove a page or two, the message still gets through. The thing about Rev 17:10-11 is, it talks of neither a people group nor a geographical location, but of an empire in a timeline that came after the one in existence (Rome) as of John's writing. That would be hard to misinterpret, IMHO. And if you put it all together, everything falls into place.

The "Russia is Magog" interpretation actually came during the Cold War, because the Soviets were this evil empire. But if you will check the older, pre-Cold War bible dictionaries like Unger's, it says Magog is on the Steps of Russia and not Russia itself. If you also check the bible maps, the 7 churches were all located inside Turkey, including the prophetically significant Pergamos. Also, all the places like Meschech, Tubal, Togarmah and the rest mentioned in Ezek 38 & 39 are in Turkey (except for the ones in North Africa, of course. Go for the Atlas bible maps and not the new, deconstructed ones) are all inside Turkey.
And what do you find on the Russian Steps? Ethnically Turkic peoples of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, etc. And then there is the more omenous recent development of the flooding - by design - of the West with "refugees". They were sent for a strategic purpose, that is why they are striving to put themselves in positions of power. There was even this article I came across about 2 years ago of 70 Muslim NYC taxi drivers who packed up and moved North to a town near a gas pipeline.
