DID ASSYRIANS INVADE EGYPT AFTER JOSEPH DIED?

Isaiah 52:4
"For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; AND THE ASSYRIAN oppressed them without cause."

Strange verse, isn't it? There are those who view "the Assyrian" in the above verse as not really about an ethnic Assyrian but as an allegorization, as a "type" of oppressor of the Israelites. But in the verse below we see that Isaiah distinguishes between Assyrian and Egyptian, that they are not the same. Speaking of the time of the Millenium:

Isaiah 19:23
"In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians."

In Acts 7:18 Stephen gives us a powerful insight into Isaiah 52:4 which we could not have any idea of by just reading this in the Hebrew in the O.T.

Acts 7:18
"Till ANOTHER king arose, which knew not Joseph."

The Greeks have two words for the English "another". One is ἕτερος (heteros) and the other ἄλλος (allos). As an example to their meaning and usage, if you say to a Greek waiter you want "another" piece of bread - of the same kind - you would ask for ἄλλος (allos) piece of bread. If you would say you wanted ἕτερος (heteros) piece of bread, you'd be saying you wanted a piece of ANOTHER KIND of bread. Stephen used ἕτερος (heteros) when he said "till another king arose, which knew not Joseph". ANOTHER KIND of king. Not just another [ἄλλος (allos)] king.

In ancient Egyptian history, we read about the Asian shepherd "plunderer" kings (called Hyksos by the Egyptians [en.m.wikipedia.org], which invaded Egypt some time after the death of Joseph. From which Asian people could these shepherd plunderer kings be from? I believe that the bible is telling us who they were in Isaiah 52:4. There is even a conjecture that the Hyksos started the Egyptians on a pyramid-building spree by building the first pyramid, the pyramid of Giza. It is the only pyramid that was not built as a tomb, and had - has - a stepped design. Those who embrace this conjecture theorize that the pyramid of Giza has its design roots in the tower of Babel, and that this is what is being referred to in Isaiah 19:19
"In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD."
The "altar" and "pillar" could be talking about the same thing. Giza means border, and it sits at the border between Upper and Lower Egypt, which were united to become one nation. So in effect it sits simultaneously in the midst of Egypt and at border thereof, they opine. Interesting.

There is another verse which provides a clue. Daniel 9:26
"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: AND THE PEOPLE OF THE PRINCE THAT SHALL COME SHALL DESTROY THE CITY AND THE SANCTUARY; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined."

The construction of the capitalised phrase lays emphasis on the people that the prince would be bringing with him in the sacking of Jerusalem. (By the way this prince was Titus, who had only recently become a prince after his father Vespacian took over Rome in a nasty power grab after Nero's death). Who were these "people of the prince that shall come"? Historians now tell us that two cohorts (some say three) among the four Roman legions brought were Assyrian conscripts, and that these were tasked to destroy the second temple while the Romans focused on destroying the city and killing the Jews. The date of the temple's destruction was Sept. 6, 70AD.

Apparently there is a pattern in the bible. The first world leader was an Assyrian named Nimrod, and the coming last world leader will be an Assyrian (Micah 5:5) carrying the many labels that refer to the antichrist. Until fairly recently many theologians thought that the ancient Assyrians, the ancient Chaldeans, the ancient Medes, etc. no longer existed. It turns out that they've just been living where they have always lived through the millenia - on the mountains (plural - Gen 8:4, also Jer 51:27) of Ararat. Or as they are more commonly called today, the Asian Steps. There are even Assyrian (who are now mainly Orthodox Christians) communities in the US and Europe (https://www.christianity.com/church/denominations/discover-the-assyrians-10-things-to-know-about-their-history-faith.html).
By the way, the Medes are now called by their modern name, the Khurds.

Does God hate the Assyrians that's why He chose them to be representative of those who oppose Him? Or is Satan a creature of habit that's why he will again pick an Assyrian to represent the last world leader? I believe it is the latter, because after the conflict has settled and died down, we read:

Isaiah 19:25
"Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance."

You might be pleasantly surprised that long time partner in the ministry of Dr. David Wood, a guy by the name of Sam Shamoun, is an ethnic Assyrian (distinct from Syrian). Amazing Christian apologist with a prodigious memory.
