How camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?

"And when the King came in to see the guests, He saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And He saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the King to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." ~Matthew 22:11-13

We've always been taught that the wedding garment in the parable represents Christ's righteousness. And indeed it could well be. But what if - just what if - the wedding garment represents the glorified body? Because how could a soul sneak into the wedding feast without Christ's righteousness in the first place? Yet what's this about being already in the wedding feast, and then still kicked out because of not being in the proper wedding garment?

The point is, is it possible that there will be those saved people - those who after believing and trusting in Christ to save them - will continue to live a life of willful sin that when the moment of glorification comes, their bodies will be so steeped in unrepented sin after conversion - grieving the Spirit and all of that - that their bodies fail to get glorified? I know that this contradicts many soteriological precepts that we read in the bible and hold dear, but it also addresses several others, like "the soul who sins is the soul who will die," and "mortify the body," and "strive to enter in at the narrow gate," and "many are called, but few are chosen," among others. Also put John 15:9-10 in there.

I could well be wrong. In fact, I'm not pushing for this idea's acceptance as doctrine, because I don't know for sure. It is possible that no one could know, this side of eternity. But what is the lesson that this Matt 22 parable is telling us? I rest with the thought that there are things that are hard to understand in the bible while we are still here on earth. Nevertheless, we would do well to take 2Cor 6:14-18 seriously and to stay away from sinful living, both publicly and in private, even when there's nobody looking. It is unbecoming witness (both here and to the beings in the unseen realm) of a disciple of Christ to live in sin, to say the least.

"As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love. IF ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." ~John 15:9-11

This might give a picture of what the "outer darkness" of Matt 22:11-13 might mean.
