After watching a number of your videos, I am amazed at how many people ignore what you are actually saying. Yes, everyone gets an opinion. Yet reality and facts are a thing. I am also a bit concerned that the new thing across all groups of people seems to be promoting group think. "Agree or you are the enemy" I am sure I don't agree with every view you have, but I am also sure that we can respect each other's opinions as long as they don't ignore facts and reality. I am disheartened that so many people think that a disagreement means you are enemies. Also that belief that by labeling and name calling we can make things better.

I have really had to come to terms with the idea that there are a lot of people that have a willing suspension of disbelief when discussing a specific (pet /sacred) subject. But I am glad that you are having honest discussions.

I have been considering lately, that with relatively high prosperity and technology, it is only recently present in human existence that many people have the time to consider themselves to such great extent. Humans had defined roles, in various forms based on the local culture, for many generations that were based on survival. If you fell outside of the norms that had to be difficult. Most cultures originated from the need to survive and create more humans. Division of labor, division of resources, and belief systems all were based around these needs. Now there is no need for such division and conformity. In Maslow's hierarchy of needs,(MHN) the bottom tiers are covered for the average North American and European. We can all focus on the Self-Esteem and Self-Actualization levels.

When focused on the top two tiers of the MHN, we are heavily influenced by the norms of our peer groups. The group norms typically define what is important. The need to belong to a group may prevent honest review of the group norms. This typically stems from self-esteem being based on acceptance from a group. I am just surprised how many people must desperately need to belong to the degree they can ignore the reality of various situations. Herd protection I guess.

Wow, I did not mean to write a book. 🙂 But I was just trying to say, "Rock On!"

haha thanks so much for the love! And you're right. We can disagree and still have conversations and NOT hate one another.
