But of course he fucked up the COVID pandemic response so much that all his good-will was tarnished. And if we are talking about employment rates, we also need to dig into the numbers more than just who is unemployed or how many jobs exist. We also have to look into the quality of jobs, if people have to take on multiple jobs to barely get by, if people aren't able to retire because of economic issues, etc. But hey, if we are commending Trump for a good economy, then I guess we also have to heap tons of praise on Bill Clinton for having one of the best economies and government surpluses and balanced budgets in recent history. Now, to clarify, did Trump actually have anything to do with the act, or did he just sign? It looks like it was originally introduced by Doug Collins, a terrible partisan hack, but I guess the praise should go mostly to him? Here is something good about Trump, he just recently urged McConnell to pass a bill to give $2000 to the American people, not just $600. Now he apparently wanted it to also repeal Section 230, not good, but parts of it were good. I also liked some of Trump's platform when he ran in 2016. I thought "draining the swap" was a good idea, unfortunately he just added to it. I was also very much was in support of his plans for ethics and lobbying reforms, such as adding a 5 year waiting period before former members of Congress and the White House could become lobbyists, as well as banning White House officials from working for foreign governments. Again, unfortunately, he did not follow through with this, and instead appointed lobbyists to his cabinet, like anti-EPA lobbyist Scott Pruitt.

@ZuzecaSape yes, Judaism is both a religion and an ethnicity. Anyone can practice the religion of Judaism, just as anyone can practice Christianity. Anyone can even be culturally Jewish - if your parents convert before you are born, you are technically considered a Jew through heritage, just as being adopted by Italian parents can make you raised with Italian culture, regardless of your actual bloodline. And then Judaism, or "Hebrew" is an actual ethnicity with unique genetic markers. I am one of the whitest people you can come across, but my DNA test came back 100% Ashkenazi Jew. There could be Jews considered non-White, depending on other factors and darker skin tones (perhaps Jews currently born in Israel even), but most I would still consider White or at least White-passing. I would disagree with people like the one you posted saying they are not White... though I understand his context - it was mostly White Christian Anglo-Saxons who came to America and stole the land from Native Americans, whereas many Jewish Europeans came after while fleeing persecution. Though he is still White. Perhaps it is a problem of being lumped in completely with all White people, as White Jews are considered a minority which faces oppression compared to White Christians, especially in America and Europe with anti-Semitism, but that does not change the fact that they are still White.

@Penrodster I do admit I am painting with a broad brush. However, I do see many Conservatives (including many on this site) who have spoken out against BLM protests. Yes, there are the issues of protests turning into riots, but these people specifically attack the underlying point of BLM, even the name, and use the excuse of "don't resist the police, don't be a criminal, comply with orders, etc" - basically blaming the victims for being killed for trying to protect their families based on an unknown threat or selling loose cigarettes or whatever. Then these same people completely change their position when it comes to resisting orders they don't like, and would have no problem encouraging violence on uniformed officers for enforcing compliance. You can see this attitude with how many Conservatives were totally fine with armed protesters trying to storm the Capitol in Michigan, shoving police officers and spitting in their faces, in their attempt to protest the lockdowns; but when people protested in the streets against police brutality, these same Conservatives railed against the protests and applauded further brutality and stripping away the civil rights of the protesters. You can see this with the way Conservatives, specifically Conservative media, treated the bar owner in NYC who hit an officer with his car when confronted about violating COVID restriction - Fox News even had him on air and touted him as a hero; these same Conservatives on TV spent hours upon hours criticizing police brutality protesters.

@ZuzecaSape as a Jew, I identify as White. When there is an ethnicity section on a form, there is no "Jew" box to check. I've never come across a Jew (at least an American born Jew) who doesn't identify as White - just anti-Semites who call Jews non-White in order to "other" them and keep their racial purity / white supremacy free of Jews. Not accusing you of that, just saying that has been my experience. And even if Jews don't consider themselves White in a technical capacity, they are still "White-passing" meaning they will be perceived as White and given similar privilege. Obama is technically White, as he is half, yet his whole life he has been perceived as purely Black. I have a friend who is mostly Italian, with some Native American ancestry, but he looks like he is Black and is perceived as such. Institutionalized racism isn't always strictly genetics - it is also how you are perceived.
