President Trump addresses NC GOP Watch this and notice where the loud applause is.
jaymaron comments on Jun 6, 2021:
@toronto_Georgia @warminster100 @eschatologyguy That's a great idea, judging public sentiment on issues with an applause-o-meter. When Trump said at CPAC "Maybe I'll run again and beat the Democrats a 3rd time", the audience gave bigly applause. Trump enjoys high standing with CPAC. When Trump mentioned AOC, the crowd set a record for boo volume.

Fauci can't handle the attacks and whined on the Maddow show. Fauci, if you desert from the debate, You ain't scientist! You lose by default. Deserter! Coward! Fauci committed a crime against science by lying about the Wuhan lab. The real attack on science came from Fauci. Science requires free debate and no censorship. Facebook censored criticism of the Wuhan lab leak theory and Fauci didn't object to the censorship. Fauci contributed to the censorship. The real attack on science is the censorship of debate. Fauci is a jerk. Fauci is to science what Benedict Arnold was to the Revolutionary War. In times of crisis, America needs badass scientists. When the shuttle blew up, all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't figure out why. Then the epic scientist Feynman strode in and solved it. American scientists used to be badass.

Among the homeless there are polite people and impolite people. It takes minimal staff to take care of polite people and much staff to take care of impolite people. Most of the costs in the homeless system are the fault of impolite homeless people. There is more to solve than the homeless problem. If you solve the homeless problem you still have to find jobs for the staff. The homeless staff system is a corrupt crony network. Most don't care about the homeless. They only care about controlling money to build a crony network. It shouldn't cost much to take care of the homeless. Give them 100 square meters of land outside the city and let them build their own shelter.

Fauci declared that Trump supporters are dumb. What a jerk. Especially given that it was Fauci that was wrong and Trump supporters who were right. Fauci covered up the lab leak theory and he undermined the USA in favor of China. Fauci should be executed for biological warfare and for treason against the USA. And for being a jerk. People who questioned the lab leak theory were censored. If you're a scientist you're obligated to debate. If a scientist doesn't show up for debate and instead censors the opposition, You ain't scientist! Marjorie Greene challenged AOC to a debate on the Green New Deal and AOC refused. Biden is instituting racial quotas for college discipline. White people will be punished more harshly than black people. If you can't behave, you don't belong in college. You shouldn't get a special exception because of race. One of the properties of a good student is manners. Old-school colleges taught manners. This is one of many examples of apartheid. Obama also instituted these apartheid measures. Does this mean that pit bulls will be allowed to bite people? Not only do colleges discriminate by race, they discriminate by neighborhood. Crime-heavy neighborhoods get an SAT advantage. If you're an Asian and hide your race on the SAT, you still get discriminated against if you live in a low-crime area. https://www.thecollegefix.com/education-department-eyes-racial-quotas-in-school-discipline-expert-warns/

@WorldSigh @Derf @Zteph @guru In general, it's a fight over public money. Wherever there is public money, leftists pop up and fight over it. And leftists are greedy jerks. Conservatives have a different solution. Conservatives like to minimize public money so that there's nothing to fight over. If you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself. Biden: I'm here from the government and I'm here to help. Conservative: I can do a better job myself. Get off my lawn. Leftists put all their eggs in one basket. It's like Sauron putting all his power into one ring. If the ring is destroyed, all leftist power is destroyed. The "Sauron's ring" of leftist power is the assumption that parents are unfit to teach kids and that only the government is fit to teach kids. Leftists furthermore assume that only leftists are fit to teach kids and that conservatives are unfit to teach kids. I can hear millions of Conservative Parents saying Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Conservative Parents feel that they can teach kids better than leftist public schools, and that they can furthermore do it cheaper. Conservative Parents also feel that they shouldn't have to pay for other kid's schools. That is the duty of the other kid's parents. After all, Conservative Parents are already paying a lot for their own kid's school. Conservative Parents feel that they should be able to put their kids in private schools, and furthermore deduct the tuition from state tax and local property tax. Leftist schools cannot exist without the tax dollars of Conservative Parents. Tax dollars are the Sauron's ring of leftists. Melt the ring down. Drain the swamp. Leftist schools are theft of tax dollars from Conservatives. Leftists also exclude conservative from school board meetings, hence it's taxation without representation. There are poignant examples of parents teaching kids, such as the boy scouts and little league sports. Let's have more of this. Once upon a time, a Shaolin Abbot gave a suggestion to Bruce Lee. "The enemy hides his weaknesses behind a mirror. Find the mirror and destroy it, and you will break the enemy" Then Bruce Lee filmed the movie "Enter the Dragon".

In the 1960s, kids rebelled with rock and roll. They wanted to have fun. They rebelled againt the Beaver Cleaver world and embraced The Fonz. Kids rebel. They're good at it. Use it. Teach kids how to refine their rebelliousness. Don't crush their souls with collectivism. Teach them the glorious story of the American Revolution, and how wise the rebels were. In the 1960s, it was kids vs. parents and teachers. Today, it's kids and parents vs. teachers. Glorious! What a bonding opportunity for kids and parents, to rebel together against teachers. Imagine a kid that's been assured by his parents that the teachers are bull and that the parents are backing him up at school board meetings. Parents should dare their kids to rebel as hard as the parents are rebelling against school boards. A good protest is unignorable. Imagine parents protesting bad teachers while school is in session, right outside the school. Imagine a kid looking out the window and watching this. The ultimate goal is to produce a protest so hilarious and creative that Tucker Carlson invites you on his show. Carlson has a segment on parents vs. teachers every night. Teachers will find that a class full of rebellious kids is as formidable as the American Revolutionaries. Parents will get together and build their own school and do the teaching themselves. "Liberty's Kids" is a 40 episode series on the American Revolution, told from the eyes of 3 kids working in Franklin's print shop. Teachers closed school buildings and are teaching online. Somewhere out there is a parent hosting a houseful of kids for the class. Cut out the middlemen. You don't need the teachers. You don't need the schools. Parents can make their houses into classrooms and teach the kids themselves. And save money. Chances are that at least one of the parents has a barn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygOwpMZdOI4

@Alysandir @RaikaRah @iThink @sqeptiq A strategy for Republican states: Defund public schools! Nuke them and liquidate the assets. Let parents that are paying private school tuition deduct it from their state tax and property tax. Then the money goes from parents to teachers directly, instead of being skimmed by schools. Cut out the middlemen. In general, you want money to go from the people directly to the project, without the government skimming it with tax. The government is a middleman. A government builds a bridge by taxing people and then hiring cronies to build the bridge. Politicians are using taxpayer money to fuel their crony network. Politicians don't give a damn about the bridge. Socialists are suckers. Most governments are Ponzi schemes. That's why conservatives like less government. Cut out the cronies. Drain the swamp. Have taxpayers build the bridge themselves. If a taxpayer doesn't want to build a bridge, give him the option of paying someone else to build the bridge. The taxpayer should get to choose who builds the bridge. A shrewd parent would do some of the teaching himself and hire teachers for some of it, and end up paying less than full time school. There is much that students can learn by themselves. Good Will Hunting puts leftist teachers to shame. You don't need a school. All you need is teachers, students, and rooms. Parents can use their houses as classrooms. Somebody among the parents has a barn.

@Alysandir @RaikaRah @iThink @sqeptiq Parents, when choosing where to live, tend to take into account the quality of a district's school. A school in a city and near a university tends to be better than a rural school. Live in a good district and your kids get a great school and great classmates. Live in the wrong district and the classmates will turn your kid into a drug lord. Choose your district wisely. Once upon a time, the best school districts were city districts next to a university. Not anymore. Now most city schools suck, and universities went Khmer Rouge. If you live in a city you pay property tax to support the city's schools, which sucks if the schools suck. Even worse, schools are more expensive than they should be, and taxpayers have no control over school spending. Egregious school spending is theft by schools of public money. Even worse, most cities don't have vouchers for private schools. If you have kids, your best strategy is to live rural and enroll your kids in an elite online school. An online school can trump a city school. Cities are doomed. Schools used to be an asset of cities and now they're a liability. Someone should make a plot of the test results for cities. I've taught 8 physics classes at the City University of New York. I've seen what this world looks like.

Trump courageously took on the slings and arrows from the left, daringly carrying the lightning rod of conservatism, creating opportunity for all conservatives to fight. Trump is the cavalry charge that broke the phalanx of the left. Gingich is a history professor, and Gingrich said that Trump is Reagan's heir for fighting leftism. @JennaGardner @WorldSigh It was Suez pilots that were operating the ship when it crashed. Suez requires all ships to accept Suez pilots while traversing the Suez. The Suez is supposed to be international. It can't forbid any nation from passing and it has to charge the same for all nations. The Suez is holding the Japanese crew and ship hostage and demanding 900 million dollars. Because Suez is holding the crew and ship hostage for ransom, it can be concluded that the Suez pilots deliberately crashed the ship. This will surely lead to an international smackdown on the Suez. The Suez has to be reminded that it is not a sovereign entity. It is a utility, and it is the international community that has the power. Given that the crash was the fault of Suez pilots, the international shipping community should fine the Suez 900 million dollars for the 6 days of lost shipping. Once upon a time, the Suez was owned by UK and France, because they built it. Egypt nationalized it (stole it), leading to the 1956 Suez crisis. The International community smacked Suez down and required that it open the canal to all international shipping equally. When UK, France, and Israel tried to take the canal back in 1956, Suez sabotaged the canal by sinking 40 ships in it, closing it for months. Jerks. When the Suez charged Japan 900 million dollars, in effect they are nationalizing the canal, by being able to dictate its terms. There will be a smackdown.

@angelo @eschatologyguy @HistoryCorner In general, one must consider magnitudes. Most Democrat arguments bite the dust when subjected to magnitude analysis. The physicist Helmholtz said: I find no satisfaction in formulae unless I can feel their numerical magnitude. Feel the magnitude! The largest volcano in the past century is Pinatubo, which released 14 Bkg of carbon. The rate of human generated carbon is 4000 Bkg/year, far larger than Pinatubo. The total carbon in the atmosphere is 880000 Bkg. Volcanoes are producing tiny carbon compared to humans, and compared to the total carbon in the atmosphere. Historic volcanoes were much bigger and capable of making a meaningful contribution to atmospheric carbon. Pinatubo's effect on the climate from dust and cooling was far more significant than its contribution to carbon and greenhouse warming. This is almost always the case. Every time a big volcano goes off, there is a year of cooling and famine and a civilization bites the dust. For example, the Viking age ended in 1258 because of the Indonesian Rinjani Volcano, which launched the "Little ice age". This was Ragnarok. Let's re-enact Loki's plan and revive Surtr and launch a new volcano, to save the Earth with global dust cooling. Yay volcanoes! Praise Surtr! I'm giving offerings to Surtr in hopes that he will unleash a volcano that will save the Earth with global cooling. I'm hoping that that volcano will furthermore be in the Cascade mountains and collateral damage will include Seattle and Portland. @ajhilder @Alysandir @sqeptiq @Naomi @guru Let's stamp out human privilege. Stamp out human supremacy. Berkeley should drop the SAT and start admitting dogs, cats, and geese. Once upon a time, 1 million years ago, a Dog Congress was held. The Dog Chairman said: "It looks like humans are going to win. We need to adjust. Henceforth our strategy is Survival of the Friendliest. Be friendly and then humans give us food." Humans have fire and spices. If you catch a rabbit don't eat it. Bring it to the humans and they'll cook it for you. Dog suffrage! Dog lives matter! If you give geese food they treat you like a celebrity. Geese are friendly. If you give leftists food, they tend to be ungrateful. Schools should fire the diversity coordinators and keep the therapy animals. Once upon a time, a gorilla was shot in a zoo because a kid got trapped in the gorilla zone. Leftists protested that gorillas shouldn't be kept in zoos. Gorilla rights became a leftist cause. If I were a gorilla I would want to be in a zoo. Free food and no predators. Every animal on the safari would love to be in a zoo. From the point of view of an animal in a zoo, the humans are the zoo's exhibit. The NFL draft combine should eliminate the bench press test and institute strength equity. The NBA should institute height equity. Stamp out height supremacy! The NBA is guilty of systemic heightism. Human supremacists should give thought to the fact that a sperm whale brain is 5 times the size of a human brain. Wrestling has weight classes, which is sportsmanlike. There is a weight class for little guys. Basketball should have height classes. Among the 5 on the floor, only 1 may be over 6'6", only 2 over 6'2", only 3 over 5'10", and only 4 over 5'6". What do you call a fast man that can't catch? A cornerback. What do you call a fast man that can't tackle? A wide receiver. What do you call a fast man that can't tackle or catch? A sprinter. Most offices were determined by lottery, had a term of 1 year, and couldn't be repeated. To vote, you had to be a citizen and you had to appear in person. Athens rarely admitted new citizens, which is likely one of the reasons the Athenian constitution lasted for centuries. Sparta and the Roman Republic also had innovative constitutions. Sparta's constitution was the first, and it was endorsed by the Oracle of Delphi. America innovated a constitution and shortly after, Poland joined the party and established a constution drawing from the wisdom of the Americn constitution. The Polish constitution deserves to be remembered by history, but alas, the Polish constitution lasted only 1 year because Poland was conquered. In 1789, France attempted to form a republic and they benefitted from the wisdom of the American constitution. In spite of this advantage, France failed to form a stable constitutional republic. Pythagoras developed the 12-tone scale and the concept of ratio tuning. If two frequencies F1 and F2 can be expressed as an integer ratio: F1/F2 = M/N, with M and N integers, then the frequencies sound consonant when played together. If they aren't related by an integer ratio then they sound dissonant. Pythagoras understood the importance of a 3:2 ratio (perfect fifth) and 4:3 (perfect fourth), and built a 12-tone scale with it, the "Pythagorean scale". The Ancient Greeks invented music, by pioneering the 12-tone scale and ratio tuning. The Baroque age saw the discovery of the consonance of the ratios 5:4 (major third), 6:5 (minor third), and 5:3 (sixth), which opened the way to polyphonic music. Previous to the Baroque age, major and minor thirds were regarded as dissonant, and after the Baroque age, they were regarded as consonant. Humanity evolved to have more sensitive ears. A diminished fifth (tritone) is regarded as the Devil's interval because it is extremely dissonant. Most compositions strive to avoid tritones. The essential feature of the major and minor scales (and all the harmonic modes) is that they have only one tritone. There is no way to construct a scale with no tritones and only 7 ways to do it with 1 tritone (the harmonic modes) The Baroque age saw the discovery of the 7 harmonic modes and the 7 melodic modes. Bach was a badass mathematician. He advanced the mathematics of organ tuning. In 1585, Simon Stevin invented the decimal number, which made possible scientific calculation. As a natural consequence, logarithms were invented shortly after, and this made it possible to calculate the frequencies of 12-tone equal tuning. Stevin published the first calculations for equal tuning. Stevin made possible the sophisticated mathematics of the Baroque age. Without Stevin, the Baroque age doesn't happen. Fermat and Descartes published "Cartesian geometry" (the concept of the graph) in 1637, and this couldn't happen without Stevin's decimal numbers. Newton and Leibniz discovered The Calculus in 1684. Without Cartesian geometry, this doesn't happen. Stevin's discovery of decimal numbers made possible the Baroque Age and The Calculus. The 12-tone scale is freakishly fortunate because equal tuning lines up well with ratio tuning. There is no scale that does as well as the 12-tone scale. Chances are that Aliens use the 12-tone scale. In the plot, red dots are equal tuning (guitar) and orange dots are ratio tuning (violin). jaymaron.com/music.html https://www.jaymaron.com/music.html

Does anyone have analysis of the Icelandic Age of Sturlungs and the Battle of Haugsnes?
jaymaron comments on May 16, 2021:
According to Wiki, Iceland was once in a feudal state where you could choose your lord. Lords weren't necessarily geographical. That's pretty cool, that lords were subject to market forces. If a lord sucked, nobody would choose him as lord, and then he's not a lord anymore. Call it a form of election. You're fired! For a market to be healthy, both buyers and sellers must have choices. There also has to be both upward and downward mobility. It should be possible for bad lords to be relegated to the Peasant League. It should be possible for a peasant like Trump to gain votes and become promoted to the Lord League. Then lords became geographical. Iceland got Gerrymandered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_Commonwealth The Sturlungs allied with Norway and used Norway's power to defeat their foes at the Battle of Haugsnes in 1246. The Sturlungs went on to live luxurious lives as the dominant lords of Iceland, but it came at a price. Iceland fell under the crown of Norway. The Sturlungs sold out to Norway and it worked. This is the usual case. Selling out to an external power usually works. Today, Democrats sell out to China. After the American Revolutionary War, the sellout Americans who were British loyalists were obliged to move to Canada. Lots of loyalists had to sell their homes in Manhattan and it was a good time to buy real estate. Trump would have seized the opportunity to make Manhattan great. The Americans that courageously fought for independence suffered during the war but after the war they prospered. Statues were built of them. Washington got an especially large monument. Paine was a celebrity. People bought him beer and food wherever he went. Today, leftists tear down the statues and they hate Paine. That's a damn shame. Today, those that courageously resisted Democrat tyranny can virtue signal. It's an exclusive club, the Patriot Club. I'd rather be a member of the Patriot Club than the Sellout Club. Trump's speech writer Steve Miller said: Your honor and your integrity are your most valuable possessions. The fact that Canada was stuffed with loyalists to the British crown was one of the causes of the War of 1812. Trump and Giuliani made Manhattan great. Democrats should thank them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd10x8LiuBc&t=102s
